I only know of vocals when I download pre-made tabs with them in it.to which I immediately delete. I use GP for guitar, bass & drums (sometimes orchestral/piano). You notate with itĮdit: It's been pointed out to me that xylophone is not valid for vocals. I use PreSonus Studio One (purchased) and it's awesome.

There are free ones out there that I'm sure are okay. You need recording software, like a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). You cannot record vocals in MIDI as far as I know. This sometimes helps people with melody if they know the lyrics really well. I've downloaded tabs from and they will have vocals tabbed out but using a instrument like xylophone.
